Now that our routines are more established we have started our reading groups/task board groups in Year 2. The kids were very excited!
If you ever have any questions about mathematics your child is learning, this website offers an interactive mathematics dictionary that may be useful.
We were very lucky that the sun came out just in time for our basketball lesson! Today I sent home the very first homework for 2017. The kids were so thrilled....not! The only compulsory sections are the sight words and home readers. There is a maths page (focusing on what we are doing in class) and optional writing act ivies if your child desires.
In saying this..... I forgot to put their guided readers in their folders today! I will send these home with them tomorrow. Sorry for the confusion! Some things never change; we still LOVE to dance! For the first two weeks of school we really focused in on numbers and their order. We played a 'guess the number game' where we chose a number between 1-100 and our partner had to guess what it was. Kind of like celebrity heads! We found the best questions to ask to reduce the possible answers were:
We are super lucky and already know everyone in our class but on the first day, Mrs S set us a challenge to find out something new about each other! |
