This term in Creative Art we have been learning all about Abstract Art. Abstract art can be a painting or sculpture that does not depict a person, place or thing in the natural world.
First we have focused on the artist Wassily Kandinsky who is often considered the first ever abstract artist. Here we are making our own circle art taking inspiration from one of his artworks.

This year we are really focusing on how we 'appraise art' and reflect on art. When looking at abstract art we ask these kinds of questions:
After we had a good look and think at the painting, we did our own paintings really focusing on how the primary colours mixed to make secondary colours.
- Do you like it? Why/why not?
- What kind of lines do you see?
- What shapes can you see?
- How do you think the artist was feeling when they made the art?
- How does the artwork make you feel?
- How would you describe the colours in the art?
- What do you see in the art? What does it make you think of?
